WHAT IS A
REP TEAM?
Base181 Rep Teams are our performance teams for dancers who want to go beyond their regular weekly classes.
Students train together, build routines and represent Base181 through performances, competitions, events and special opportunities throughout the year.

Our Rep Teams give them the mentorship, motivation, and stage to turn potential into performance. With structure, accountability, and real stage experience, they’ll build confidence that lasts long after the spotlight fades.

HOW TRYOUT DAY WORKS
A high-energy, experience-based day designed to challenge, inspire, and unlock each dancer’s next level — giving dancers a real taste of Base181’s elite Rep Teams, and giving our team the chance to see each dancer’s strengths and find the best fit for 2027 Rep or Academy groups.

Families are contacted after tryouts with their dancer’s recommended team or next step.
WHAT IF MY DANCER ISN’T PLACED IN A REP TEAM?
Every dancer will receive a clear next step. Depending on their age and development, we may recommend an Academy or development pathway designed to help them keep progressing toward future Rep Team opportunities.

No preparation needed — just come ready to dance, learn, and give it your all.
Who can register for tryouts?+
Tryouts are open to all dedicated dancers who are ready to challenge themselves — whether they’re current Base181 students or new to the studio.
What happens on tryout day?+
It’s a high-energy day where dancers take multiple classes in different styles, perform combinations, and work in groups. Our team observes their skill, focus, attitude, and performance energy to find the best placement for 2027 Rep or Academy groups.
What should my dancer wear?+
Comfortable dance gear that lets them move freely — show us your personality. Sneakers required. Bring water and a positive attitude!
Do dancers need to prepare anything?+
No preparation is needed — just come ready to dance, learn, and give it your all.
When will placements be announced?+
Families will receive their dancer’s placement approximately one week after tryouts.
What if my dancer isn’t placed in a Rep Team?+
Every dancer will receive a clear next step. Depending on their age and development, we may recommend an Academy or development pathway designed to help them keep progressing toward future Rep Team opportunities.
